The 17 blocks of the Santa Parade route are each hosted by a company or organization creating a Block Party atmosphere for parade spectators. Each block features different types of entertainment including mascots, musicians and street hockey. Teams of Block Brigades are recruited from the hosts and help to ensure that everyone has a safe, friendly, fun, entertaining and memorable experience at the Winnipeg Santa Claus Parade.

2016 Block Party Hosts and Activities
CBC Manitoba – Young to Spence
We are your first destination to see the Grey Cup Festival Santa Claus Parade! CBC’s Marcy Markusa and Marjorie Dowhos will be giving away noise-makers, toques, mitts and t-shirts.
Arrive early to take part in a touch football game. We’ll have two games going, one for the big kids and one for the little-ones. We want to keep you having fun and staying warm while waiting to see Santa!
This year, CBC Manitoba’s bleacher seats will be donated back to our community. We’re partnering with Winnipeg Harvest, Spence Neighbourhood Association and Broadway Neighbourhood Association to give families the opportunity to see the parade with guaranteed seats in a prime viewing spot for the Parade!
Grey Cup Festival – Spence to Balmoral
The Nissan Titan Street Festival spills over to Portage Avenue for an action-packed hour pre-parade! Make sure to come early to join in the festivities taking place at the University of Winnipeg – both inside and outside! Tons of give aways, games and things to see and do!
Great-West Life – Vaughan to Kennedy
Great-West Life is proud to join forces with the Winnipeg International Children’s Festival for another year! We welcome jugglers, stilt walkers and face painters from the Central Canadian Circus Arts Club. Kick off Grey Cup weekend by taking part in our Football Toss. Jingle Bells will be ringing and barbershop quartet “Hat’s Off” will be serenading the crowds and lead a sing-a-long to bring on the parade!
Stop by, say hi and enjoy a free cup of hot chocolate with Great West Life!
Manitoba Children’s Advocate – Carlton to Hargrave
The Office of the Manitoba Children’s Advocate calls all children and youth to bring their families and join our #Carlton2Hargrave block party designed specifically for kids and youth! Try your luck in our games area where you’ll giggle your way through the Goal Post Catapult, the Lil Ladder Clambour, and the Corn Broom Zoom, hosted by VOICES: Manitoba’s Youth in Care Network. Find the championship Oak Park Cheer Squad warming up the crowds between demonstration games featuring Winnipeg’s Timbits Hockey clubs. And while you’re here, make sure you stop and meet the friendliest mascot in Manitoba: The Wavy Guy!
