Manitoba Hydro presents Noël of the North
Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 8:00 pm
and Sunday, December 1, 2013 at 3:00 pm
Crescent Fort Rouge United Church

A concert featuring Christmas music from northern countries with New York harpist Grace Cloutier. Co-conducted by Ross Brownlee and Michael McKay, the repertoire will be sometimes serious, sometimes fun, most times unexpected and always beautiful! Highlights include new arrangements for harp and choir from Grace and the Etherea Vocal Ensemble of New York, baroque choral music with flute by Haley Rempel, sonorous early Slavic songs and Russian motets. In keeping with our popular five-year tradition, we will offer three new versions of a well-known carol; this time, it will be The Little Drummer Boy, based on a traditional Czech carol, arranged by Sid Robinovitch, Michael McKay and Andrew Balfour. Audience members are invited to perform with us in our Spoon Choir. Spoon sets will be available at the door. Admission is FREE! Please bring food for Winnipeg Harvest. Donations to Camerata Nova are welcomed to defray the cost of the concert.

Other Important Info

Please leave your dogs, cats, reindeer, snakes, penguins, ferrets, lizards, and other creatures at home. Special-needs animals are the exception of course.

First Aid
It is never fun to get hurt, but if you do we have The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service and St. John's Ambulance on-site. Please locate a police officer, security personnel or a volunteer and they will get someone to help you.

Lost and Found
Lost something that is yours? Found something that is not? Come to the Lost and Found at the dispersal area at The Forks parking lot P7 (William Stephenson Way and Waterfront Drive). All articles gathered up after the Parade will be collected by Santa's Helpers and stored at his workshop. Please contact (204) 77Santa (777-2682) after the Parade.

Special Needs
We want to make the viewing experience the best possible experience for everyone. There is a special reserved area in front of The University of Winnipeg or accessible areas at all intersections along the Parade route for people who need a little extra attention. To book a space at The University of Winnipeg, or for more information, please contact us at 77Santa (777-2682) or e-mail

Santa and his sleigh need lots of room to visit us on Parade day and we have had to re-route some of the regular bus routes. For route and schedule information visit Winnipeg Transit website or call 311.

Lots of participating businesses have opened their washrooms to the public and of course you will need not to look far to find one of the many portable units stationed on side streets along the Parade route. Ask a Host-a-Block or Parade volunteer for directions.

The Winnipeg Santa Claus Parade is proud to partner with the Christmas Cheer Board. The Christmas Cheer Board will be accepting non perishable food items and new unwrapped gifts.

Look for volunteers in the Parade as they will be picking up items along the Parade route!

Green Team
Remember - please pick up after yourselves. We know there are many goodies distributed throughout the Parade and Santa and his elves appreciate your help to make the world a cleaner place.

Food Vendor
A number of authorized food vendors will be set up on side streets along the Parade route. Check with your Host A Block Volunteers for directions.
